The field begins in a symmetry state. Every dot appears as a single
undifferentiated pattern. It is not perfectly still. Each one drifts
by an amount too small to notice at a glance, the same way a Null
Pattern is only null relative to the fidelity you’re observing at.
A dot is not necessarily fundamental. It is the compression of
recurring movement without looking further. Increase the fidelity of
observation, and any dot could unfold into another field of
interacting patterns. Decrease it, and this entire field could become
a single dot within a larger one.
The observer also compresses the field. Separate movements may be
experienced as a ring, a body, a cluster, or a temporary geometric
object when their relationships become stable enough to recognize.
Pressing Release is the disruption. Every dot begins to vibrate around
its own equilibrium. Differences in wavelength become observable.
Where those wavelengths fall within the visible portion of the
electromagnetic spectrum, the human brain experiences them as color.

As each dot's vibration settles, its wavelength stops changing, and it hands off into the same field you've already seen: nearby wavelengths pull toward each other, more distant wavelengths push apart, and accumulation locally strengthens a group's push and pull, recomputed fresh every frame — nothing here is ever permanent, and no group can ever become the whole field.
With WRAP selected, a dot crossing the left edge continues from the right, and the top continues from the bottom—there is no boundary, only continuity. Other containers hold a fixed shape instead — a circular dish, a skull outline, or a straight-edged polygon — each producing its own distinct bounce pattern. OPEN removes containment entirely: a dot that crosses the edge has genuinely left.
